Link CodeChum class to LMS

Last updated 8 months ago

Once you have successfully , it is now time to make use of CodeChum's LMS integration to its full potential.

There are two possible ways you can link a CodeChum class to your existing LMS class:

Note: this will only be possible if you have set up your LMS classes and enrollments before doing this step.

a. Create a class and link it to your LMS

If you're new to CodeChum and have not created classes for your students yet, you may follow these steps to connect it to your existing LMS class:

  1. In View All Classes screen, click the Create class button to open the modal.

  2. Fill out your desired class name.

  3. Select a programming language for this class.

  4. Select a programming course associated for this class.

  5. (Optional) Edit the course outline of the class course.

  6. (Important!) To link to an existing LMS class, select your desired class from the list. Please note that connecting a class to the LMS class means that all the activities and grades generated from this class shall enable syncing to the LMS class so you don't need to export grades and transfer to LMS -- it's one step easier.

  7. Once satisfied with your choices, click Create.

b. Link an existing class to your LMS

If you've just connected to your LMS account but have previously created a class that your students are currently using, worry not about losing their progress because you can also connect an LMS class to an existing CodeChum class by following these steps:

  1. Select the class you wish to link to an LMS and find the More Actions icon button.

  2. Click Edit. This will open up a modal.

  3. (Important!) Scroll up to the last step in the modal which lets you link to your LMS classes from the list. Select your desired class to be linked.

  4. Click Save.

How to know if linked

To identify whether your class is already linked to the LMS class, here are several steps you can check on your end:

  • In CodeChum > View All Classes, a class has a link icon on its card, which, when hovered, states that the class is connected to LMS.

  • If you view the CodeChum class, in class header under the class name, it indicates the LMS class it's linked into, which you can click to redirect you to the LMS class directly.

  • If you view the LMS class linked, you can see in the list of assignments that there are added items from the courses and custom activities you have created in CodeChum.

Once your class is linked to LMS, it's now time to let your students in!
