⚙️How to use questionnaire answer environment

Introduction

Students interact with CodeChum’s questionnaire environment whenever they answer programming items in the activities created by their teacher.

It’s important to help students become familiar with how CodeChum’s questionnaire environment works. By understanding how to navigate and use it effectively, they’ll be more confident and better prepared for their upcoming activities.

Typical Questionnaire Environment Anatomy

A typical CodeChum questionnaire environment looks like this and has the following parts in it:

  1. Questions - students must answer all the questions under a given item to receive full points. Partial completion may result in an incomplete score.

  2. Item Navigation - located at the top right corner of the screen, this card displays a list of all items in the activity. It allows students to move easily between questions with just a click.

  3. Bottom Navigation - found at the bottom of the screen, this feature provides “Prev” and “Next” buttons for smooth navigation across items.

  4. Messenger Support - positioned at the bottom left corner, this allows students (and teachers) to reach out to CodeChum’s Customer Support Team for any technical issues or questions related to the platform.

Types of Questionnaire Questions

Here are the types of questions your students might encounter in the questionnaire environment, along with guidance on how to answer them:

  • Multiple Choice - These questions present several options.

    • Single Answer - Students must select only one option that best answers the question.

    • Multiple Answers - Students should select all applicable options. More than one may be correct.

  • Identification - These require students to type the correct word, phrase, or value into a text box. Accuracy in spelling and format may affect their score.

  • Essay - These questions call for longer, paragraph-style answers. Encourage students to write in complete sentences and explain their thoughts clearly and thoroughly.
